The picturesque Barossa Valley is Australia's most renowned wine regions and home to some of our best known wineries. In 1887 a boutique winery was established in the small township of Gomersal and over a century later, it is now home to Gomersal Wines.

Tasting Notes
Fruit for our 2013 CDR Mataro was selected from our quality low yielding Gomersal vineyard, fermented on skins for 11 days and then matured in second fill French and American oak hogsheads for 29 months to add further complexity. Following an extensive tasting, the Gomersal team selected a small parcel of Mataro 4055A VALLE* producing only 182 dozen.

Aromas of blackcurrant, spice and a hint of violets, combine perfectly with flavours of dark plum and vanilla, to produce a balanced full bodied wine with structure, silky tannins and excellent length. Drinks beautifully now 2013 MATARO and will reward cellaring for a decade
